Once again on a recent lunch outing with a friend I ventured down one of the many arcades, this time high street arcade where there was a little café of Sophie’s creperie. The front of the shop is an awe-inspiring colour of yellow and draws your attention to enter right away. I and a friend entered and we were warmly welcomed and advised to look at the menu rather than the big one on the chalk board as it actually was easier to read. Though it’s a place for crepes you can have the ingredients in a baguette or panni if you would prefer.
We had chosen what flavors we wanted we both chose to have the crepe option, especially seeing as I could not have bread. We paid and made out way downstairs to the seating area, my friend being very tall did have to duck to avoid bashing his head on the staircase above. Downstairs there was a fair amount of seating, with the choice of a sofa of cute wooden tables for two. Around the walls were several bit of art work from different artist which you could purchase if anything took your fancy. There are even a few board games if you fancy a game or two while dinning.
Soon our food was brought over, on the cutest floral pattern plates one in pink one in blue. I had chosen the sweet billy savory crepe costing £5.55 if you choose to stay in but only £4.95 if you took the take out option. The crepe had a mixture of goat’s cheese, walnuts, onion chutney, mixed leaves and herbs in it. The creamy cheese, the sweet onion chutney went so well with the crunch of the occasional walnut. My friend choose the full English crepe , loaded with bacon, sausage, scrambled egg , garlic mushrooms, cheese , tomatoes and red onion. This is just bursting with flavor and you could eat this anytime of the day to keep you going.
The menu is just so extensive and you are spoiled for choice and could go back several times and still not have made a dent in the menu. There being sweet ones where you can add ice cream for an extra £1 as well as having the savory ones with side salads for an extra £1. There is even a make your own version of the crepe starting from £2.50 and most extra ingredients being just 50p extra. I will be sure to returning in the near future to pop in and get a quick takeaway or stop by for a bite and a board game.
