CF24 project

IMG_0962.JPG

As soon as saw the development of cf24 project i knew I had to look further into what it was about. The concept sounded great, events, culture , arts and good food. When I heard they were having a comic con event, I jumped at the chance to visit.

I Made sure I did my research before hand and even contacted them to see when the graffiti artist creating cat woman would be starting. I got told around 11 so thought that I would leave it a while and headed down around 2 so I could see the start of the creation. When I arrived to my disappointment the artist was running late and had not yet started the exhibition.

However I opted to stay and sample what other delights they had on offer. The staff were very welcoming as I was on my own this was an added bonus and made me feel less awkward. I grabbed a smoothie at the bar and then sat down on one of the higher tables. Afterwards I decided this was not such a good idea for my back and on second thoughts should have found lower down seating.

While I was waiting I thought I would have a nose at the menu knowing full well not being able to have bread would limit half my choices. The member of staff soon brought my smoothie over to my table and asked if there was anything I wanted off the menu. I soon explained the whole giving up bread for lent situation and he was very helpful in offering suggestions. Soon I narrowed my choice down and went with the pulled pork fries, not exactly the healthiest choice but they tasted amazing!

As I sat eating I took in the surroundings, they had created a lot of the interior out of one of my new obsession pallets. The bar was made from pallets, the light fitting pallets, this interior was something I only dreamed of making myself. The rest of the space was somewhat eclectic with a canvas of doctor who along with an art mural of what I could gather was Charlie Chaplin. Soon I realised there was a downstairs and that must have been the wall space for the Comic Con graffiti to go, but thought id explore on my next visit.

Although it was disappointing not seeing the art in the creation, having seen the finished article online I will be sure to return. The staff were welcoming and the events they have are often to a niche market making the events more inciting to me. Overall a place that I will be sure to be visiting again.
