On a recent visit to the city centre, it soon came to lunch time and that decision on where to eat soon came. My boyfriend suggested that we head over to mount fuji a place he had wanted to try for ages. I had currently been there before and from want I could remember it was enjoyable.
As we entered we were shown to a booth and given our menus. As it was lunch time there were a few offers on bento boxes which I totally love, a real Japanese traditional dish. When offered drinks I asked for a lemonade but they did not have what you would called traditional lemonade. The waitress suggested I try the Japanese version, it was more of a carbonated drink with a lemon taste. The bottle had a tiny little ball which meant you had to poor the drink slow otherwise the ball fell into the gap stopping the flow of liquid. I would more than likely not be getting that drink again and be sticking to coke next time.
We finally settled on what food we wanted and the food was brought to our table in excellent time. I settled on the chicken teriyaki chicken bento box. This came with slices of bread crumbed chicken dripping in gooey teriyaki sauce. This came then with a side of sticky rice, some pickled onions, a slice of orange and a slice of pineapple. As well the best thing chicken gyoza, little pockets of pasta shell mixed with chicken and veg.
My boyfriend settled on the chicken miso soup with chicken gyozas floating just on the top. When the bowl came over it was huge stuffed full off noddles, vegetables and plenty of chicken. When he finally finished it he was full and truly enjoyed the food.
Once we had both finished our food we politely asked for the bill. When the waitress brought it over we were pleasantly surprised with the total for 2 drinks and our meal only coming to 23.60. I will be definitely be returning and start to make my way through the array of sushi they have to offer.
