Juno lounge

A few weeks ago I found myself visiting a restaurant in my local area called Juno lounge. Its part of a chain with other restaurants including Fino lounge and ocho lounge in the Cardiff area. Juno lounge is just situated in the center of Welfield road. it has a sleek stylish wooden exterior making the place look very up market and inviting. When entering there was a very livened atmosphere with the hustle bustle of chat and the clinking of glasses. Me and a friend had quick look around then eventually found a nice spot near the front to have our catch up and food. The décor is very miss-match with wooden chairs and tables with them all being somewhat different in appearance. Over the bar is what I would call old fashion fringe lampshades which although I didn’t like the look I couldn’t stop looking at them.

Once we had gotten around to a quick catch up we thought it best be time to order some food and drinks. The options of drinks were quiet extensive with alcoholic ranges to satisfy everyone’s taste. Their soft drinks enticed me loads, especially what I originally wanted which was the watermelon ice tea. Unfortunately they had run out of ingredients for me to be able to try its delights so I opted for the sherbet lemonade. This was a sugar explosion in my mouth and very sweet, if you have not got too much of a sweet tooth I would opt for something else. My friend Joyce opted for the white house wine which was a reasonable price.

We finally got around to deciding what to eat once we had narrowed down the huge choice on offer. I opted for the pulled pork burger which they called the rib tickler costing around £10. It came with a brioche bun as well as a luscious sweetcorn relish which really complimented the pork. On the side were some fries as well as some coleslaw. I’m not a big fan of coleslaw but gave it a go, to my surprise it tasted not too bad but does have a bit of a kick at the end. Joyce opted for one of the many specials they had on offer, dabbling in the delights of the Lebanese lemon and tarragon chicken. This came with a bed of onion rice and some roasted artichokes. She thoroughly enjoyed the seasoning on the meat but the dish was quite big and was unable to eat all of it. Although the specials are that much more priced they are worth the quantity and quality of food you get.

Overall the service was pretty good considering that we were warned there was a wait on the food but before we knew it the food was in front of us. It’s a great place for all ranges of people just to have a nice drink with friends or a full on feast. I have since returned after this first visit and actually got around to trying the watermelon ice tea, all I can say is amazing!! This will sure be a place a visit in the future to make my way through the menu.
