Subzero ice cream

Down the food festival, there were several ice cream stalls so it was hard to narrow it down on which one to choose. Certain ones like science cream that I had tried several times were off the list, or ones with extreme flavours. 

I saw tonnes of people walking around with black tubs with subzero on and as I turned the corner there it was. With around 15-20 flavours on display, I had to narrow it down to just two. Also to decide if I wanted to go for a cone or a tub. 

We were welcomed greatly by what I will call their asset colleague, which will soon become clear. With some basic flavours such as raspberry ripple and mint choc chip available I knew I was going to go for something slightly different. 

My boyfriend was hot off the mark with a jammy dodger and his favourite of mint choc chip as his flavours of choice. Myself I'm a bit more indecisive so once the payment had been made I had to be hot off the mark with a choice. My two options came down to a cherry flavoured one and Donatello. 

The flavours were amazing, creamy but with crunchy surprises. The cherry had chunks of cherry but was not overly sweet, just the right amount. In the chocolate one, I had there were what I could only describe as crispy biscuit shells. Within the jammy dodger, there were tiny chunks of biscuit just small enough to add texture. 

As the weather was baking hot we stood near the tent in order to stop our ice creams from melting. One of the staff made sure we were happy with our ice cream while eating them. He then went on to see if it was the first time we had tried it when we said no his face just lit up. He started to inform us about how the factory started, where the ice cream parlour was situated and the flavours they have. The sheer passion he had was so admirable. His love for the company, his knowledge and his fab customer service, he deserves a pay rise. 

The ice cream cost us around £3.50 for a double scoop on a cone.  I  now know there is an ice cream parlour in Tonypandy I will going back to get my ice cream fix. With over 50 flavours I sure do have a lot to get through.
