The last supper at the pear tree.

A dear friend of mine was leaving soon to live her new life aboard, so a last meal out was needed before she went. With both our mothers being friends we brought them along for the ride.

Our choice was an old favourite, the pear tree. With them having a pretty good array of food on offer. We used to have tapas but unfortunately, they had changed the menu. Instead, they had smaller starters 3 for £12.50 My friend and her mum opted for salt and pepper squid, sweet potatoes fries and a dish which had to be adapted. The dish had olives, salad and was meant to have couscous, instead, they opted for extra bread.

My mum and I both opted for burgers. They had a deal on of a burger and a drink for £10. My mum had the ABC burger, which had avocado, bacon and cheese in. Mine was more of a sandwich so it didn't class within the deal. Mine was a steak sandwich with onions rings. I asked for medium rare but would advise may be to get it a bit more cooked, otherwise your bread is a bit bloody. We both opted for a £1.50 upgrade of sweet potato fries that were delicious.

Overall the meals were tasty, it's a shame that the menu has changed slightly. It means the old favourites we used to go there for maybe won't draw us to revisit as much. The staff though are friendly and when we went it was not to busy.
