TGI Friday's

Firstly this meal would not have been possible if it was not for my job and my epic team at work. After winning a competition we won a meal out along with a lot of drinks. With it being a Friday there was no better time to visit Tgi's, a great start to the weekend.

We booked for 6.30 for 10 of us so peak tea time. Unfortunately, the website automatically directs you to the Newport road branch. We were visiting the St Davids branch, so make sure you type for St Davids rather than Cardiff when booking online. We needed a table for 10, so took a seat at the bar and 5 minutes later our table was ready.

First things first we created a tab for our drinks for the table. With so many cocktails to choose from it would take a while to get through them.  I started with a popping candy margarita, which is one of their slushy cocktails. Unfortunately, it does take time to drink as the paper straws start to collapse. The straws get soggy and the drink does not slurp up well. The drink though was delicious and fruity with a kick added in for good measure.

Our server came over and introduced himself in a really friendly manner. He was called Dean and made himself very approachable. He made sure he kept us up to date with how much we were spending on drinks and food through.

It soon came to ordering food and he had this down to a tee, with no errors being made with our food. With there being a big table this sometimes can be hard but he handled it well.

For my choice of food, I had a burger called the gravy seal. This burger came filled to the brim with several layers. Two beef burgers, chicken bites,  bacon, tomato, cheese, onion and mustard. Two other colleagues of mine also ordered this and requested to not have onion or tomato. When I had the burger I know next time not to get the onion as its raw it leaves a bad aftertaste. The reason for it being called the gravy seal is you get a side of gravy for dipping. This sauce was great to dip the fries in. The burger is so filling I couldn't even have dessert.

Another colleague of mine had the ribs, which comes with fries, corn and coleslaw. He said the ribs were delicious and the meat just fell off the bone. Other great dishes had by the team were sesame chicken, a burger with mac and cheese in it.  There is so much food to choose from as well and it's all so filling. Good luck to anyone who gets through three courses.

Towards the end of the meal, Dean came over gave my manager some alcoholic concoction. It was an odd combination but went down in one.

The night soon came to an end a few drinks later and it was time to pay. Dean made it easy and split the food and drink for us so payments were easy.  We were not felt rushed at all throughout the meal either so could relax and have fun. We all enjoyed our night and were given a warm farewell when leaving. I'm sure everyone who was with me would agree that it was a great team night. This was made even better with the great service from Dean.
