With it being autumn and my favourite season I thought I'd make the most of it. Just a short drive down the road was Tredegar park and house. On Saturday just gone they were holding a food and craft market so thought we would have a little nose.
As soon as we arrived the car park was jammed packed and we eventually parked in the overflow carpark. The parking does cost so do take this into account, £2for 2 hours so not overall pricey.
As you walk out of the car park you can see the beautiful trees of all the autumnal colours. Leaves scattered the floor as well so you get a nice crunch as you walk.
Before we hit the stalls there are shops that seem to be permanent sites on the park. We popped into the first of where handcrafted wooden items were. From boxes to wooden signs there is something to interest everyone preference. There is also a sewing shop, ice cream and garden shop. Inside the garden shop for sale are fresh fruit and vegetables grown in their own allotment. We went home with some cooking apples and a pumpkin. The pumpkin soon to be made into delicious soup.
It finally came around to exploring the stalls that were there for the event. Such crafts that where there were candles, jewellery and wooden crafts to name just a few. The one stall that caught my eye was that of a company called grandmas bees intense skin balm. Using natural ingredients it claims to solve many issues such as eczema, athletes foot and psoriasis. With Myself suffering from eczema I thought I'd give it ago. It cost £5 for a small pot so time will tell if it does work wonders.
Also on offer were food delights with fresh food as well and items to take home too. Baked goods that looked beautiful but I resisted the temptation for once. Other items such as jams and chutneys scattered a few stores, as well as some cider. All local producer with great gifts sets ready for Christmas.
If any of these stalls do entice you and you fancy a visit yourself more events are still to come. The market will be around again on 3rd and 17th of November so still time to visit.
The park also has a great walk and a play park for children. The house itself is run by the national trust and has a few to enter. Through autumn there are other events to delight as well. Such events are a hedgehog trail, toffee Apple bar and pumpkin carving to name a few. Look at the website for more information.
