Juno lounge - Christmas menu

On a Tuesday just gone, me and five friends had our Christmas meal at Juno. Booking was done in advance, with a deposit and meals chosen beforehand as well. We opted for the 2-course meal for £19.95, but you can have 3 courses for £24.95.

With each meal, you get a glass of fizz, but those not wanting to drink you can literally choose any soft drink of your choice. The table was dressed with crackers and reserved ready for our arrival. When we got there we were unsure if it was table service, so eventually, we went to the bar to let them know we were ready.

We were all starving so as soon as the food came we were ready to demolish what was given to us. We had two people who had vegetarian options. This consisted of a halloumi and winter vegetable Wellington. The pie itself, I was told was lovely, it came with lashing of vegetables. On the side was mash potato, roast vegetables, sprouts and gravy. Unfortunately, the mashed potato was not that great and tasted very bland compared to the rest of the dish.

Onto the meat dishes, I and one other had the pork belly, which came with braised red cabbage, dauphinoise potatoes and a red wine gravy. The stand out part of this dish were the potatoes, they were so creamy to taste and I wish they would never end. I do wish there were roast vegetables on this dish as well rather than the cabbage. The meat was mediocre as I've had pork belly that's much moister in the past.

The final option picked on our table was Norfolk turkey and smoked bacon pie. Which came with vegetables as well as the added extra of pigs in blankets!! I was told that the food was beautiful to taste.

It was then time for the pudding to be eaten. We had an array of options from churros, sticky toffee pudding and a chocolate brownie. The churros came with two dipping sauces, one of chocolate and the other salted caramel. I'm told it was delicious and the sauces complimented the churros well. I opted for the sticky toffee pudding and unfortunately was disappointed though it was my favourite dish. The brandy and cinnamon were so overpowering there was not really a toffee flavour at all. The brownie though was a beautifully rich and would highly recommend trying.

If you still are thinking about a place to eat for Christmas, then this could be the place for you. Places may be limited so call beforehand to avoid disappointment.
