Firstly it's taken me about a week to recover from the drink and catching up on sleep to write this. This experience also would not be possible if it was not for my amazing job. Never have I know a company look so well after their staff and reward them so well.
Having attended the awards the year before being chosen to go for a second time was a privilege.
Those from around Wales who work in contact centres (calls centres) being recognised for their work all in one evening. Held in the spectacular millennium centre, its a night you certainly will not forget. As a company the sheer numbers of nominations we had from all departments was impressive.
The night started off with some welcome drinks and time to mingle. We then are asked to take our seats which are situated on the stage. Before the awards themselves are announced through its the surprise guest presenter. This year was the fantastic Katherine Ryan. After a 10-minute comedy act, it was time for the awards.
When the awards came up they seemed to flash before your eyes, soon it was our table's turn. A fellow colleague and friend was up for an award of the advisor of the year. Literally when the award came up and Beth Coundley's name was called our table erupted with applause. We were all so proud of her for the fantastic work she does and now she has an award to show for it. I'm proud to call her a fellow team member and was ecstatic to witness her winning.
As the night went on we had some fantastic music. A singer who although not well know had a magical voice. Her songs enticing the crowds and getting them up out of their chairs. Our table had a great time dancing and celebrating Beth's win.
As the night went on food was served and celebrations continued it then came around to the group awards. With ourselves being up for small contact centre of the year. Unfortuanlty we were pipped to the win by fellow colleagues from another department. This though has made me more determined to show what a great place our team and company are to work for. This didn't put a dampener on our night though as we got to share in our colleague's great achievement. I wish her the best in everything she does and may she go on to bigger and bolder things.
