Creameria Monteforte , cream gelato for all to enjoy!

When visiting Rome an essential food to eat is gelato, ice cream from the gods. With my friend being vegan we thought it would be hard to narrow down options for her. With the assistance of the happy cow app, there were more options than originally anticipated.

Being in a certain area we looked at what was near and we came across Creameria Monteforte. Located just to the side of the pantheon is this small establishment. Although there is no seating, there is plenty of walls nearby.

Being tourist we walked in looking at all the flavours on the offer and going against the system. The system seemed to be you paid for your ice cream handed your ticket over and then got your ice cream. The staff bent over backwards and came to us behind the counter, letting us pay afterwards.

So many flavours to choose from it was hard to narrow down, eventually, I opted for two. The staff speaking English to accommodate us as well was great. He said I could choose 2 to 3 flavour in my cone all costing €5 euros. I opted for the creme caramel and the mixed berry. Both tasted beautiful and I even got a waffle wafer.

Elizabeth to her surprise had the option of 3 different cones and 6 flavours of ice cream to choose from. She opted for the strawberry and chocolate. As her cone was the next size down it only cost €3.50 euros.

If in Rome I would highly recommend a visit, the service was excellent and the ice cream delicious. The range on offer for vegans was wider than most establishments, so what excuse have you got not to go.
