Recently new to the market is Alice in Welshcake Land. A small independent offering mini Welshcakes in a range of flavours. Being around for about a month, the business is fairly new. But I do love a Welsh cake so gave it a go.
A lot of her boxes are guided by votes on her Instagram , this dictates the flavours from her customers. Each week the boxes are announced ready for you to order. The box has a total of 35 miniature Welsh cakes 4 of each flavour. This then totals £10 with £2.95 postage and packaging. I placed the order and money was transferred securely through sum up pay.
Due to many strikes going on Royal mail did cause a few delivery issues. They got to me about 2 days later than planned which is not too bad. But i was kept up to date throughout. The shelf life of the packaging is also clearly displayed. I was very impressed about the allergens list. It was clearly visible for each flavour.
The packaging came very well packaged and very professional with a card and beautiful tissue paper. The 5 flavours are clearly separated in small little bags. The flavour that I had were biscoff, galaxy, traditional, chocolate orange and white chocolate and raspberry.
The flavour that surprised me the most were the chocolate orange. This is a flavour I would say I hate normally, but the orange was not to over powering so was lovely. The galaxy also had a great chocolate taste to it. The white chocolate and raspberry had a good amount of chocolate. The raspberry though I would of liked a bit more. I know it's a hard act to balance and not made too soggy.
This biscoff were also lovely as well as a good old traditional one. It's very hard to get flavour in such a small item. The majority of items did this and hit the spot perfectly. These would be great as well if you just want a small bite and to not over indulge.
If you are wanting mini Welsh cakes this is the place to go. Great range of flavours for all tastes. I am sure if you ask to swap out a flavour she will be happy too.
