On a quiet Wednesday evening me and my friend Laura were over due a catch up after lockdown. Having had some restaurant vouchers I needed to use we thought why not go to Ask Italian to feast. Due to covid guidelines, we had to book in advance to make sure there was room that social distancing could be adhered to, so I would highly recommend booking. When we arrived there all the regulations were in place including track and trace ,as well as sanitiser so it felt very safe.
On arrival we were given little shots of pink lemonade to try, which tasted lovely but not enough to get me to pay for a glass of it. Instead I opted for another fruity soft drink, a soft tropical sobrito. This drink was so refreshing with the mango and passion fruit flavours well worth the £3.95.
Most things we could conveniently order through the app by scanning a QR code on arrival so it made it easier for us to order when we wanted and have a nice catch-up. By the time we had a catch up it was time to get ordering the food, first things first the starters. They had a few new items on the menu so thought I would treat myself. I narrowed it down eventually and opted for the n'duja and cheese dough bites. They were cooked fresh, doughy and the spicy ketchup on the side was a beautiful added taste even if I did run out half way through dipping. Laura oppted for a mozzarella garlic bread and for a £1 extra had a topping of caramelised onions. The size was well worth the money with it practically being a mini pizza.
Where we were sat right by the kitchen it gave us plenty of time to eye up what other people had ordered. Laura had already planned what she wanted for her main so it was just me to narrow down my options. Laura opted for a spaghetti Al Pomodoro, myself a spinach and ricotta Girasole. Laura food looked amazing this dish was big as well so much so she had to take some home for the next day. My pasta parcels were beautiful, the mascapone cream really made the dish to it's full potential.
Unfortunately, we both then were too full to have pudding, so will have to return in the near future to try them. When paying there was a bit off a faff with the gift cards, with me at one point paying £2 extra than needed but I got it back so all was ok again.
