Having been open for around 10 years in various locations it has now moved to one spot in queen street. Having never had magic wrap before I took the opportunity to try it being so close to my office now. So me and a friend went on a lunchtime meet up for some magic wrap.
Firstly I tried to download the rewards app before hand but my phone was having none of it. Secondly even if I did have it could not see a place you could log it on the self serve screens. I also tried to look up the menu before hand, but it seemed a bit outdated on the site.
We visited on a busy wednesday lunchtime, with a few people standing around waiting for their orders. we had spotted the touch screen order pads on the side. There are a lot of options to choose from as well from wraps to salads. I originally was going to get a salad. Its the fact it was my first time visiting I went for the wrap instead. The options were a bit limited with certain salads, I would of loved a bit of sweetcorn or cucumber.
I opted for the wowee teriyaki wrap paying (£1) extra for the larger wrap. I also opted for the healthier option of wholemeal and low-fat yogurt. You then have the option of adding four fillings in the wrap. I went with lettuce, red onion grated mozzarella, with the rocket and spinach mix. I was promoted then to upgrade for a meal deal, this gets you a can of drink and some potato wedges. My total order with the upgrade to large and meal deal was £10.70.
My friend had ordered the southern fried chicken wrap with Rocket, lettuce and sweet chilli sauce. She had chosen the plain wedges where I had gotten the garlic and herb. She had placed her order say a 30 second window before mine but had her food a good 5 minutes before mine. The one guy who seemed to be the boss had clocked this as he could see were together and then chased the food.
So as they have gone all out we thought let's enjoy the seated area. There is seating outside while the weather is nice as well as inside. The only thing with eating inside is the seating is upstairs so lacking disabled seating. There are also toliets but these are located downstairs. The decor is pretty decent and fresh with plants, a fresh clean wooden look. The seating was pretty comfortable, but the table we selected wobbled a bit. As we sat down with our food we noticed QR codes where you can order to table if needs be.
It was then time for the taste, as you can see from the picture the £1 extra does not seem like the wrap is that much bigger. This maybe you get extra filling , but the size of the wrap is not the large option. So I took my first bite and it was actually very fresh. There was a good amount of crunch from the salad and loads of sauces. So the sauces did cause an issue that they start to gather at the bottom and do drop so be warned. I managed to have it gather and drop on my dress.
My friend enjoyed her food , but felt with the meal deal it was very filling and she could not finish it all in one sitting. The wedges were nice but nothing outstanding, with the garlic and herb not having much of a different flavour to the plain ones.
For my first experience it was not bad, I think I will return but for a salad next time. I would go when I was less pushed for time so I could look at the menu a bit longer so I don't panic order. Anyone that has been and had a good flavour combination I do appreciate recommendations.
