Orchestral performance- music of Hans Zimmer and John Williams.

This experience is one I certainly won't forget, my first time watching a live orchestra. When we arrived there was a queue for St davids an unusual occurrence, but this show was sold out . People of all ages attending to listen to the beautiful live music of Hans Zimmer and John Williams. We were seated right at the top and had an excellent view of the whole stage.

While we waited for the last people to be seated you could hear the orchestra tuning their instruments. Then the lights dimmed and a commical intro to turn your phone off came, in the voice of darth vader. Then the conductor ran on to instruct the performance to start.

The rumble of music came within the hall the acoustic perfect for the performance. I don't know how to describe how momentous the music was. Such hit movies Schilnders list, the da Vini code and E.T . Between each song the conductor with great enthusiasm gave us facts about the movies and the composer. With audience interaction and a guest violinist the first half was over before your knew it.

It then came to the second half and the conductor came waltzing back on dressed as Jack sparrow for a atmospheric performance of pirates of the carribean. Then score after score came, from Harry Potter, Star Wars and Superman , to name a few.The audience after each song having a roaring applause.

It eventually came to the last song and the crowd where on their feet with admiration. The conductor went off and came back dressed as a Jedi, with his lightsaber in the air. Then the grand finale came , a final star wars theme came. From the sides came a troop of stormtroopers protecting darth vader, it really set the scene.

If you don't think that an orchestral performance is your cuppa of tea, I would highly recommend you going to a show. The music echos and the atmosphere is just magical. Taking you to that movie and great presence, with other similar shows on the horizon I strongly suggest having a look.
