Just opened for over a year pink kiwi is still somewhat new on the cafe scene. It took me this long to actually go and visit with it only being a 20 minute walk from my house. Located near the top of crwys road with a blue and pink frontage , it's easily accessible.

When I first walked it it was very quiet and there were no customer. As I walked in I was warmly welcomed and offered to take a seat. I informed them there would be 3 of us so we were placed near the window. I had preivously messaged to find if we needed to book, but it's walk ins only. The decor is very eclectic and I loved some of the framed prints.

As I waited for my friends I browsed the menu to see what was on offer. We went around 11am so we're opting for a late breakfast. The breakfast menu consists of mainly 2 options of pancakes , overnight oats and warm breakfast. The menu is also halal friendly and offers a range of veggie or vegan options.

First things first was drinks, I opted for one of their smoothies with 4 flavours on offer. I ended up picking the mango mission, this has mango, strawberry, apple and banana(£4). I also opted for a hot drink and luckily they had decaf tea. The way they took orders was very high tech with an order for each of us separated so we could pay later.

It came time to pick the food and I had narrowed it down to the avacado smash on toast with poached egg and a side salad(£7.50). My friends both decided to opt for the same thing ,the veggie breakfasts(£9). It was roughly 20 minutes and the food was then ready. I had to wait a bit longer on mine but the kitchen is only small so I understand.

When my breakfast came it looked amazing, the wait for the poached egg was well worth the wait. The avocado smash was put on and smoothed down in a lovely pattern. I had the option of brown or white bread and I had opted for the brown. The bread was a beautiful seeded bread with a nice thick crust which held the food well.

The test then came was the yolk going to be runny. I cut into the yolk and it came out oozing all over the avocado beautifully. Once I had tested the yolk it was time to try it. The combination of chilli flakes , poached egg and avacado blended expertly together. The salad though was so refreshing, the dressing not sure what it was but it was amazing. I could see a sprinkle of herbs and the blend went so well with the leaves. This dish was outstanding and a great breakfast , filling and delicious.

My friends breakfast came with a veggie sausage, hash brown, fried egg, tomato, mushrooms, beans , halloumi and some toast. Alea loved the hash browns and halloumi, but was so full and did not mange to finish the bread.

Towards the end before we knew it the whole cafe was full to the brim. People had come in for the lunchtime rush. Once our dishes had been cleaned and we paid it was not really right to hang around as we could see a couple were waiting. If it was quieter we would of maybe stayed a bit longer, but there is always another time. We were offered cakes before going but we were all so full, so maybe a tea and cake next time I go will be on the cards.
