Pizza Express - St Davids 2

On a boiling hot Sunday evening me and my boyfriend fancied dinner before the cinema. With St Davids 2 close by we narrowed it down to Pizza Express. Already having the rewards app it was easy to book a table as well as look at the menu before hand. I would highly reccomend getting the app, your first order gives you free dough balls.

When we arrived it was very quiet , most likely due to the heat, with everyone being at the beach or a beer garden. We were warmly welcomed by a tall blonde lady. We had an option of tables and chose to sit inside due to the air conditioning being there.

I had looked the menu up before I had gotten there to get an ideas of what I wanted to eat. The drinks though I had not had a chance to look at and opted for a nice still passion fruit lemonade drink. My boyfriend just opted for a coke. But I also ordered a jug of water and this was brought over very promptly.

First were the starters , so many choice , as I had claimed my dough balls on a previous visit I opted for bruschetta originalle(£6.25). This came loaded with fresh tomatoes , pesto and onions. It was really fresh and the bread was amazing, sweet and savory. My boyfriend opted for the garlic king prawns(£7.45). This came loaded with Garlic butter, roasted tomatos, peppers, onions and chilli flakes. He thoroughly enjoyed it, there is even a side of bread to mop up the juices as well.

Then it was time for our mains, they have added a few more options to the menu and they are amazing. The best new item is the 50/50 pizza Duo romano(£16.95). Can't decide on what pizza you want , now you can have two. So we did just that we opted for the pandana and the American hot. I always get the pandana as it's just so good with the flavour combinations. My boyfriend wanted the heat of the peppers.

As a back up option we also went for the other new item on the menu the hoisin duck pizza(£14.95). This came with a fair amount of toppings. When it came out it had cucumber and I must of missed that ingredient when reading. I thought the taste would be odd, but it was a game changer, the flavours blended so well together. I would definitely be having that pizza again, so I am hoping it's not just seasonal.

For a chain pizza express does very well with pizzas, the flavours and the dough and better than most chains. They are not to heavy compared to other chain pizzas. The service is always good and not bad a bad experience as of yet. So if your wanting pizza and need somewhere to go pizza express is the one.
