The Neighbourhood- Camebert Bar

So firstly if you don't like cheese then this is not for you. Open for a short while with the majority of spaces booked, is the Camebert bar. The neighbourhood is located just a short walk from the city centre on tudor Road. This was my first time experiencing what the neighbourhood had to offer, I was not disappointed.

When we got there I never knew how small the venue actually was. With 3 booths and some stools on the side, seating is so limited. I loved their decor, simple but it works well. We waited by the bar while the staff cleared the table that had run over a little.

We were then given a drinks menu before we were seated. They had the standard soft drinks, some on tap, wine and some mocktails. The wine seemed to only be by the bottle which was cheeky. I opted for a mocktail, it was marvellous. Refreshing, fruity and a reasonable size.

The table once seated is a bench seat , but you could end up with a stool. If going do state this, as another couple had not and were not happy to get the stools. We were a table of 3 and had a few shopping bags so it was a tight fit. So if booking for more than 4 could be a bit close for comfort to eat.

Right onto the food now, the menu came in sections with cheese, toppings ,side and pudding. The cheeses had a Welsh perl wen(£9) , Normandy camebert(£8) and a vegan Camebert(£7). You could then top your cheese with a range of topping ranging from £3 to £7. Then there were the sides 5 different options to dip into your cheesy goodness!

We ordered our food and it was a good say 15 minutes till it was brought out. The food is brought to the table by the chefs, which is great. They bring it gleaming with joy of what they have cooked. We each opted for a cheese each, 2 camembert and a vegan camembert. The vegan one was substantially smaller, but this was a good thing as there was soooo much cheese.

For my meal I opted for the camembert topped with red onion and cranberry chutney(£3). It came loaded and oozing and bubbling away. My friend opted for the garlic, honey and rosemary topping(£3). I feel I got a bigger bit of topping, but no complaints here.

Now the sides, I opted for a side of bread as well as pigs in blankets. The shock when they turned up they were massive. They were so big and so filling. Once dipped in the cheese you be surprised how quickly you became full. I also opted for the bread basket, this came with some butter also.

My friends also opted for the pigs in blankets, so in total we had 6 sausages to share. Abbie opted for the crudités, pickels, carrots and some celery(£3). Then Shannon had the patatas bravas(£4) these were lightly spiced and a great accoimpiment.

Between the 3 of us we could not finish the food. I only just finished my cheese, but had several bits of bread left. We were one of the last tables so did not feel rushed at all. The staff were very friendly the atmosphere lovely and the food outstanding. If this is anything to go by on other pop ups they have I would highly recommend visiting the neighbourhood.
