This was my first time having a boozy bottomless brunch. I booked about 2 weeks in advance to make sure we were not disappointed. Me and my friend Lucy opted for a Friday and started around 1.30pm. The bottomless brunch costs £31.50 per person. This gets you selected meals as well as unlimited cocktails for 2 hours.
We arrived pretty much spot on time and were greeted by Charlie(what the recipet said). I was not aware of the seating when we got there and saw a lot of hard chairs. I was a bit difficult and asked for a chair with a back and cushion. It was a good thing I had asked as originally we were on the benches and that would of messed up my back. Charlie rejigged and found us what I call comfy seats.
As soon as we were seated we were asked which drinks we would like first. We got the ball rolling with myself having a pornstar martini and Lucy having a raspberry reggae. I love how the menu depicts what glass the drink will come in so you have an idea. Once we started sipping on these it was time to think about the food.
I opted for the shack stack burger, a beef burger with jerk bacon, cheese a load of sauces and salad. Lucy opted for the hot chicken burger, the portion size was great , had a good level of spice but could of had more sauce. Both of these on their own would of cost £8 without us having the brunch. We opted for a side each and shared them. I had the platain(£3.60)and Lucy the mac and cheese(£4.60). I just love plantain there portions were a bit small, I say the more the merrier, but tasty either way. The mac and cheese had a kick to it so be warned if you don't like spicy food.
So my original plan was to alternate between cocktails and mocktails. This did not really go to plan, before you know it I was 3 cocktails in. On the 4th one I did opted for a mocktail which was just as lovely as the cocktails.
In some places you have to constantly track staff down to get more drinks. Not here we were asked say every 15 to 20 minutes what one we would like next. I found this fantastic as it pressured me into trying new cocktails rather than having the same. In total we had 9 cocktails. This is such good value for money , as one on its own is around £9.
Towards the end I thought we would be rushed as our time slot had gone. We were given plenty of time to finish our last cocktails even though it was starting to get busy. The music , decoration and friendly staff really did add to the experience. For my first bottomless brunch I had a great experience.
