Having travelled past here many times and it always looking bustling I knew I needed to visit. A group of friends and myself visted on a Tuesday evening booking roughly about a week in advance. The decor was very intresting with some amazing graffiti and ceiling decor.
When we arrived I was shocked that we were the only table there. This maybe down to the students having gone home for summer or that Tuesday was a slow night. We were asked for our drinks first and then left to browse the menu .
The menu was very extensive with having a lot of Indo-Mexican twists. We opted for some starters but had them come with the main so everyone could eat at the same time.
I opted for the masala calamari that came with a harrisa mayo. When they came there were roughly about 4 of them and they were reasonably sized. The were lightly dusted with the spice, it was there but not over powering. They were cooked well and not too oily. The dip I just wish there was more of it, next time I will ask.
Some of my friends got a portion of nachos to share. They come as the basic nachos but with some added chilli spice sprinkled on. They are options to add toppings for an extra £1 such as tandoori pulled chicken or paneer butter masala. They said they were very nice and flavoursome just as they were.
Now on to our mains, I was a bit over whelmed as there were a lot of options. I panicked so went for the burger and chips, the beef madras burger with cheese and fires. The burger was spiced very well that it was not too over powering. The chips were pretty basic standard chips.
Another dish on our table was the paneer masala chimichanga . This comes stuffed with biryani rice, black beans and cheese. So this can be made vegan if need be but do ask. Lucky my friend did as the same oil is used to fry the items. They were more than happy to grill her chimichanga for her to make it vegan. They both throughly enjoyed it but feel there could of been a bit more paneer filling .
Overall we throughly enjoyed our food , I am sure I will be returning in the near future. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was nice to try a cuisine with a twist, if you love Indian and Mexican it's a must.
